It's all right I've come under the impression that this measures the whole CPU. Koitsu wrote: It's pretty simple: you follow the advice on their support page. powerful? Gurus? I don't know the right word. You give them tools that "show them a bunch of numbers" and somehow that makes them. This is all mainly (IMO) a result of what I call the "Gamer Effect", where you have kids with money who think they understand technology because they can build a PC, but in reality have zero familiarity with what's going on under the hood. BIOSes (both classic and UEFI) are common offenders of this too, because they're choosing to "dumb down the details" for the end-user. I cannot tell you how many times (bordering on a hundred?) I've heard people say "well XYZ app says my CPU is at 30C, but then ABC app says it's at 47C? Which is right?", when really XYZ is looking at DTS and averaging them, while ABC is looking at a HW monitoring IC, but both apps say "CPU Temperature". It's one reason why these generic Windows hardware monitoring applications are ridiculously stupid - they really don't teach this to end-users for reasons I just do not understand. Therefore: "sensor" can refer to one of several different things, with the source data coming from one of several different places. ![]() Then there's PECI, and ACPI thermal zones, and. And back on the DTS side, TjMax and all that horseshit makes things crazy. None of *that* discusses per-vendor implementation differences, such as when they choose to stick a resistor between the thermistor and the chip, changing the formulas you have to use (in software) to calculate accurate values (so what the chip manufacturer says to use for a formula is no longer accurate, and rarely if ever do the actual motherboard manufacturers public disclose such resistors/changes - it often varies per motherboard too). And that's all on-die - none of that is related to hardware monitoring ICs (sometimes part of a Super I/O chip) which provides data from external sources (particularly thermistors placed on the motherboard near/around components of interest). For example, Intel CPUs (both mobile and desktop) include DTSs, but where they choose to use a DTS (and what it associates with) is their choice model X may have a DTS per CPU core as well as 2 in the on-die GPU, but another model may have only 1 for the GPU. But really it doesn't matter, because it all boils down to choices the manufacturers make when it comes to designing the product. AMD and Intel do things very differently. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The better agreement of our results with those of Wilson may be fortuitous since our measurements were made relative to his pure‐water data. The management aspect of Jurassic World Evolution 2 is more interesting. The focus on a more accessible game is understandable, but it does mean that this title will probably not bring enough depth for avid building game fanatics. ![]() And that’s a shame as this game was made by the developers who have also brought us games such as Planet Coaster and Planet Zoo. There are plenty of research options to customize buildings and the addition of lagoons and aviaries make parks look more unique, but the lack of options to make a park feel unique are sadly missing. ![]() Sadly the building mechanics are fairly shallow, just as they were in the first game. In Jurassic World Evolution 2 you can build a lagoon or aviary to breed and release these creatures into your parks. The biggest change from the first to the second game in terms of gameplay and additional content is the inclusion of aquatic marine reptiles and aerial dinosaurs ( pterosaurs!). Building a zoo is easy, but managing it is more difficult Malcolm’s presence in the game fuels the nostalgia and authenticity which comes with a Jurassic Park video game. Ian Malcolm (voiced by Jeff Goldblum) are a constant reminder that it isn’t the greatest idea mankind has ever had to breed and showcase dinosaurs. In both the tutorial campaigns and the Chaos Theory segments, the lines voiced by Dr. Overall the Jurassic Park: Chaos Theory chapters are a lot of fun. It’s entirely up to you how you deal with this, with enough free space to make the park look and function however you’d like. For example: during the Jurassic Park San Diego mission you are only a few minutes in when two Tyrannosaurus Rex dinosaurs are dropped into your park. It combines the sandbox mode and the mission structure from the tutorial campaigns. And what came as a surprise to me: you’ll have a lot more freedom in these missions than I expected. These missions let you build the parks we know from the movies. If you have thought, I’d advise jumping into Jurassic Park: Chaos Theory right away. So, the 4-ish hours you’ll be spending in the campaigns can be interesting if you’ve never played Jurassic World Evolution. If I had known they were tutorials before I started playing, I might’ve just decided to jump into the other content instead, as I had already played the first installment in the series. These tutorial missions aren’t particularly difficult. The campaign is more like a lengthy tutorial teaching you the basics of building a park. Jurassic World Evolution 2 features a 5-chapter campaign and additional content named Jurassic Park: Chaos Theory. Since Jurassic World Evolution 2 was released on Xbox Game Pass I’ve been playing the different modes of the game, with varying degrees of success (and pleasure). In these video games, you design and manage your park. To celebrate the three Jurassic World movies the developers behind games such as Planet Zoo and Zoo Tycoon have created the Jurassic World Evolution video game series. ![]() Most of the dinosaurs in these Jurassic Park or Jurassic World movies are fictional, created by mixing actual knowledge about dinosaurs with action movie stuff such as poison and roars. Years later I’d watch the film cementing dinosaurs as one of the most fascinating things ever. I was born in 1992, so when the first Jurassic Park film was released I didn’t even know what a Velociraptor or Brachiosaurus could be. ![]() ![]() ![]() This cookie is set by GDPR Cookie Consent plugin.
